Calipers and wheel cylinders can be adversely affected by contaminated fluid. Keep your metal on metal parts well lubricated in order to maintain an effective barrier between them. However, do not let your technician top off your brake fluid. Too much fluid prevents the built in brake wear alert system from functioning properly. Tires must be in top condition for your brakes to do their job correctly.
